I am new to IN - four months in. I have been looking to find a church where I would feel welcomed. A community where everyone is welcomed. I have attended the services about 5 times now. Creek was referred to me by the a close family friend. My ethnicity is Indian. I grew up in the outskirts of Delhi and I am a child of an inter-caste married couple. My mother is Punjabi Hindu, and my father is Protestant.
We came to USA when I was 12years old and today I am 33 years old. I grew up in the tri-state area, NY/NJ. Being an immigrant, I understand the difference in cultures, mindset, religions (specially being that India has multiple different religions), not to mention a diverse group of people that make up this country. So, we have many different cultures and religions around us here in USA as well. So, when it comes to diversity, religion and culture USA is not any different to me than India. Both countries are rich with their own culture and traditions.
Lead Paster Dan Hamel’s sermons hold value, ans I have taken a lot back from my few attendings – but this past Sunday Dec 10, 2023, very clear remarks were made “Christianity is the only religion where Lord himself came to Earth for his people and lived among them….” “Hinduism, Judaism, Islam – these religion did not have their Gods come to Earth and this is why Christianity is best religion …” please do excuse me, I did not sit and memorize Lead Pastor Dan Hamel’s exact words, but I did receive your massage.
Please think how can a pastor to lead, A Lead Pastor? When did it become OKAY to say anything negative or to create a competition between religions.
Many young families who have made the conscious decision to raise their little ones in Gods footsteps. I remember how we all took a moment to welcome and acknowledge all those families on stage with their little ones. So, these kids who are going to grow up one day are also going to teach their little ones someday – “Our religion is the best” “No other religion has had their God sacrifice for his people”. Are you serious about this? So, you want to tell me that Lord Rama did not go in exile for 13years for his Kingdom and his family and his people. He did not sacrifice his life, family for his people. Lord Shiva does not exist among his people. Hinduism is polytheistic – yes, we have many Gods we worship. We do believe that our Gods walk among us. Goddess Lakshmi – every time a baby girl is born – it is believed that newborn baby girl is a form of Goddess Lakshmi who has decided to bless the family with a baby girl – blessing of happiness and prosperity.
Please excuse me, but all I see is an ignorant man leading a community. I was not able to sit through the service and missed communion – no communion should be served under this kind of ministry. Our Lord and Jesus himself didn’t have anything this harsh to say about anyone.
to the last person who's mom requested somthing from the church and was refused. It's because these leaders here at the creek aren't always lead by the holy spirt. the church used to have saturday service even sunday evening service. now it's just sunday morning service or you don"t go. Closing or ending saturday evening service's . I would say was not being lead by the holy spirt. You think about all the people who gave tithes and offering's above 10 percent. So as to get the church out of debt. Only to have them close saturdays. What? now i have less access to the church. And one less day to be spiritly feed. also remember the church leaders get it wrong. After all how many times did jesus call out the church leaders of his day?
Used to have a real Fox News vibe, but now it feels more C-SPAN. Congregation is turning the channel and the church had to downsize as a result; unfortunately, they let go of the wrong dan.
They canceled all Saturday services permanently and even Sunday evening service. Can't go to church now. My friend tells me. Cause of his work. Schedule. My friend tells me the leaders don't even seem to care when he asked them why they did this. It's like so what we don't have Saturday service's or Sunday evening services no more. And you can't make it to the morning service. So now he doesn't go to church at all now. Because he can't make the morning service. And he tells me it's as if the church leaders don't even care. So I guess if your Christian you can worship here. But only Sunday morning.
Gary the senior minister is truly touched by god, his messages and teachings are down to earth and taken from his and others experiences, he is easy to understand in his ministering and is just a normal person like you and I, he admits his faults unlike others I have seen. This church is truly a life changer on the true preachings of God, it is a very big church with many people but you feel so welcome. I say you will not be disappointed if you go.
A very good, welcoming church makes you feel welcome even if you only go once in awhile..feel great every time I Leave!!! Love the Creek and everyone in it!!!
I very welcoming restoration church. It's rather large but tries it's best to be inclusive and small group aimed. I grew up down the street from this church and have watched it grow from 12 people to 5000+ attendees in the past 30+ years. The lively contemporary service is inspiring and humble.
The best feature of this church is it's engagement of all ages of attenders. Every service they offer people to go to "The Porch" area to ask questions and seek guidance of trained pastor volunteers. Every age group has a place to worship and engage within the community. The children's program is amazing! They offer babysitting for infants and toddlers that don't go to a service.
If you go to the website you can learn about all the small groups that The Creek offers. They are tailored for certain needs and age groups. They offer marriage classes for groups and individuals.
Welcoming atmosphere, family orientated never feel pressure to come or feel pressure if you miss. They have online services as well.
A great support group for the community-based things they do. Plenty of information on their website for any questions that a person may have.
I'm happy to come here and be part of the community.
